Ol Pejeta Conservancy is located in the Laikipia plains about 17 kilometres from Nanyuki and 217 kilometres from Nairobi. The ranch is is 110,000-acre. Transfers by road from Nairobi take approximately 3 hours.)
The The park is only a three hour drive from Nairobi on good roads, Ol Pejeta conservancy is the closest place for you to come and see the big 5. Ol Pejeta Conservancy boasts an astounding variety of animals including the non-indigenous chimpanzees and the big 5 (the endangered black rhino, leopard, elephant, buffalo and lion).The combination of amazing wildlife and stunning views across the open plains of Ol Pejeta guarantees an unforgettable safari experience.
Depart from Nairobi at 0600 Hours and proceed north, driving through lush tea and coffee estates to Sweetwaters Game Reserve. Both Sweetwaters land, the Ol Pejeta Conservancy and its sumptuous ranch were once the private domain of famed multi-millionaire, Adnan Kashoggi.
You visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary, a charming haven established by the Jane Goodall Institute to provide sanctuary to orphaned chimps, and the specially protected and fenced refuge of black rhino with its stunning forty specimens!
Enjoy a game drive in the park where one could see reticulated giraffe, common, or Burchell’s, zebra, African elephant, Cape Buffalo, warthogs, Waterbucks, Jacksons Hartebeest, Lion, Cheetah, Leopard, Steinbok, Striped Hyena, Suni, Thomson’s Gazelle and Impala. Over 500 species of birds have been recorded including the Ostritch.
Lunch will be served at one of the lodges in the game Sanctuary then followed by a visit to a rhino homestead.
Depart by road back to Nairobi arriving at 1830 Hours.
